On Easter...

Well, this past weekend was Easter and boy did we have fun! Good Friday we had 65 lbs of crawfish with all the veggies and what not. It was delish for sure! However, on Easter Sunday we had a nice relaxing and fun day! We went to church with the fam and then we went to Dustin's mom's house and ate some great BBQ. Of course we did an easter egg hunt and Gauge wasn't really into it lol. We had another hunt after we were home with the eggs that he and Heath colored. Needless to say he was interested only until he took a bite and decided it was NASTY haha. He was so over it after that! The picture to the right is after he tasted it! He was spitting and shuddering! I laughed because he has to taste

every thing that goofy little boy! After he decided the eggs were no fun or good we played outside for the remainder of our day! It was so beautiful out. It was in the 80s with an amazing breeze, just perfect! We played ball and ran around! But when we were done we sat back relaxed and enjoyed the weather until bath time =) The only thing missing was Dustin, but we know he is in Iraq working hard so he can come back. We always talk about him at night time. I know Gauge misses his daddy. He gets so excited when I show him pictures of Dustin and talk about him. He blows kisses to his pics and lately he even likes to hold the pic of him. Its so sweet. I am looking into getting him a daddy book and a stuffed daddy. They are really cool and I think Gauge will enjoy having them to look at before bed. Well we love you Dustin and we are counting down the days!

Lots of Relaxation...

Today was pretty nice. Gauge woke up a little upset and tired because he is cutting his bottom two molars. But I fixed him a pancake and sausage on a stick with some milk and let's just say he wasn't crying anymore lol! We ran into town picked up my new coach shades (whaaaat!?) and then grabbed lunch with Tiffany and Danielle. Gauge really liked Tiffany because she was poking his nose and giving him all kinds of attention lol! He even said bye bye tif digga lol!! I sure wish I knew what digga meant. Oh well! Well we went home and played on the water table, rode the fourwheeler, drew on the carport and he even threw his plastic bowling ball at Roxy a few times. Which I must say was funny because I was so mad at her for popping Gauge's spiderman ball he ust got and LOVED! ugh that dog... lol. Well We had a nap and ate a dingdong and pistachios for snack mmmmhmm. It was all so yummy lol. We hung out all day outside. I even think he may have gotten a LITTLE color haha. He did get bit by some fire ants =( I rescued him and poisoned those bad boys. Rubbed his foot with alcohol then and before bed. He really enjoyed that because I was blowing on his foot so it wouldn't sting haha so he started forcing me to blow on his foot. He's such a ham. We maxed and relaxed outside until we were both lounged out and waiting for bath time haha. And that was our day! We are definitely missing our daddy though =) Today is the kind of day that we always love to share.

Lazy days

Today was a pretty slow one... but the highlight of our day was when we checked the mail and found two KU shirts in there. One jersey for the little man and a shirt for me! We hurried in and changed into them so we could take some pics for Mike. Of course Gauge looked handsome in it! I had some trouble getting him to stay still long enough for the picture haha but he did it! I even stopped his four wheeler with my foot... that didn't go over to well with him haha! He (as you may know) has a good ol' fashion Italian temper. We played outside for a long time but the dumb mosquitos were bad so we had to call it a day before sun down. =( I also took a few pics for my brother! He wanted to show off how well he is at recruiting lol! That was pretty much our day... not too exciting
just a nice relaxing day spent with my favorite little guy! =)

Our Shopping Day!!

Yesterday we went shopping and poor little man went through every store happy and well behaved! I was SO proud of him. He is growing up so fast. Well after his nap I brought him to McDonalds and bought him a vanilla milkshake =) He <3ed it! He even looked at the camera and said cheese flashing me his

forced smile! He cracks me up sometimes! After we planted some more flowers in the back yard, we pulled out the chalk that his pawpaw Neil bought him and wrote all over his little chalk board! Of course that was all after I change his clothes into something a little less depressing to see him get stuff all over haha. And if you can't tell from this pic, Gauge is quite the little artist! He uses his left hand a lot too... I wonder if he'll be a lefty? We will see I guess! That was our day.

Not too eventful I know, but boy did we have a good time in the sun. haha by the time his daddy gets back he may have a little color =) Even though I <3 his beautiful ivory skin! It makes me proud to know he got something from my gene pool. Maybe not from me exactly but from my mom haha! I mean seeing nothing else looks like me on him but my eyes, I claim whatever I can! =)

Our Night in NOLA

After I picked Dustin up from Camp Shelby on March 5th, we headed to NOLA to spend some kid free time together. We stayed at a great little hotel off of St. Charles Street. We took a street car straight down to Bourbon Street. Our first stop was to eat some awesome red beans and rice at Big Easy bar, and of course that was where we enjoyed our first beer together. =) After our bellies were full we headed down Bourbon Street, but not before running into a marching band that was going through heart of New Orleans.
We followed it all the way down Bourbon along with a mob of people. It was so amazing. I love NOLA so much haha. Anyway, we stopped in at a few bars and had SO much fun! One of our favorite stops of course was the Cat's Meow. It is this amazing karaoke bar, we probably would have passed it up if it wasn't for the sound of someone singing to Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody. We ended up staying in that bar most of the night. We followed it all the way down.

We did a lot of dancing and a lot of singing... and well of course a whole hell of a lot of drinking haha!We met up with some friends, had a few more drinks and all I have to say is THANK YOU for public transit because we needed it haha. While we waited on the street car that brought us straight to our hotel, a man was trying to buy Dustin's shirt from him and offering us 'special pot' haha. Only in NOLA would a guy get high in the most populated area with cops across the street from him. He was really nice though lol I guess that counts for something! We hit the hot tub and relaxed for the rest of our nig... morning! The best part I think was waking up without a hangover and hitting the streets to eat at Primo's for lunch! Had some awesome Italian food and even though we had a blast... one thing about being a parent is it's just not the same without your kid to wake up to. And it's even more sad not to wake up next to your kid when he is a kick ass as Gauge is =)

What a Day!

Today was the official day that Dustin left the states headed for Iraq. So, to get our minds off of it all Gauge and I enjoyed the lovely weather to plant some flowers and herbs. That was Gauge's pot he dumped the dirt in and played in it of course ha. I planted his flowers as he brought them to me. It was so much fun! So much so that I am going to buy some more so we can decorate our back yard . We are even going to try tomatoes!! (Lets hope we have the green thumb) Bath time was fun as it always is! We tooted on our bath whistles and played peek-a-boo! Who knew a little boy and a little sun shine could brighten up such a gloomy day!
